….I don’t buy this thing that moviemakers can ruin a book. All they can do is ruin a movie. The book is the book. Movies always bring readers to books. They never take readers away from books.

Jonathan Safran Foer in an interview with Daily Candy

He’s right.
I’ve watched movies that are book adaptations and said “well that wasn’t that good but now I really want to read the book.”

And even when I love the book first and then see the movie and hate it, this only serves as a reminder of how great the book is to start with.

Still, I’m hoping that this is as good as I want it to be.
